The 1898 UK florin obverse features the robed bust of the mature Victoria, facing left, with jewellery, veil, and a small crown. The 1898 florin surrounding legend reads 'VICTORIA DEI GRATIA'. The 1898 florin reverse shows four crowned shields in cruciform, each with coats of arms representing UK union members: (England, Scotland, Ireland). Four sceptres are between the shields in the diagonals. The legend reads 'BRITT: REG:' to the left, date at the top, then 'FID: DEF:' to the right.
The Florin coin is also known as two Shillings coin and is equal one tenth of a Pound, or twenty-four old Pence, it was also sometimes known as a "two bob bit".
