The 1900 Threepence obverse features the bust of the mature Queen Victoria, facing left, adorned with jewellery, veil, and a small crown. The surrounding legend reads: 'VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITT:REGINA F:D:'. The UK 1900 Threepence reverse shows the royal crown above the number '3', with the date divided to either side. A wreath with a bow at the base surrounds the main design.
Like the sixpence, the threepenny piece first appeared as a silver coin.
